Why We Want to Empower Ladies with Their Cars
Welcome women of the world. My Name is Cindy Calderon.
My husband Irving and I are owners of KAR/Kingdom Auto Repair in Garden Grove. I have been working with him in the shop since we started 4 years ago.
When it comes to running a garage, I’ve had a lot of various duties. Ordering parts, customer service, plus all the administration. When I started working with the customers in the shop, I noticed how many women had dreadful experiences with other auto repair shops. Most of us ladies just don’t understand automobiles, we just turn the key, or push the button and go.
I was outraged of hearing, how women are scammed and how they are lied to by the car-care industry dominated by men. Men who often see women as an easy mark and take easy advantaged, by selling them services they don’t need, for problems they don’t have.
My husband and I wanted to do something about that, which is why we stared “Ladies KAR Care,” where I will share tips and articles that can help you in the maintenance of your vehicle.
I’m not going to teach you how to be a “mechanic.” My goal is to show you how you can take control of your own car, and maybe save some long-term headaches, as well as mucho dinero.
Nowadays, women are likely to be the main consumers of auto repair services. Women represent 50 percent of the repair market for automotive service shops. We are powerful women, we juggle jobs, sports, cooking, children and even our cars. Maintenance can be intimidating, but it’s not as difficult as we think. Knowledge is the key to not being ripped off. You don’t need to be mechanically savvy, to understand car basics.
You want peace of mind when it comes to your car, not your car falling to pieces.
